The Johanna Lucretia was built in 1945 at the Rhoose shipyard in Ghent, Belgium.

Although originally built as a fishing vessel, she was never used for this purpose. She laid as a completed hull and deck unsold for a number of years before being sold in 1952, then being converted and completed in 1954 for recreational use by her owner Ber Van Meer. She sailed Dutch waters from her home port of Enkhuizen in the Netherlands.

In 1989 there was a change of ownership to Ms. Heather Henning, who registered Johanna as a British vessel with Plymouth as her home port. In 1991/1992 she was refitted at T. Nielsen & Company in Gloucester, to her present configuration and was used for private charter from Gibraltar, The Caribbean and the East coast of the USA.

In 2001 she was brought by Chas Setterfield of Cutlass Classic Charters Limited. She was chartered several times but in 2003 was abandoned in Gloucester Docks.

In 2008 she was arrested by British Waterways for non-payment of licences and mooring dues and subsequently sold to her present owner.

After completing her refit and systems upgrade, her current schedule is for private hire and personal use by the new owner.
